Here's the "Leavin' Town" view of our pilot model. This was one CHUNKY steamer. Those short drivers, and that "fat", piping laden boiler are a dead giveaway that this IS the #74.

If it appears to you that his tender kinda rivals that of the K-28's for width, it could be because BROOKS later became part of ALCO, who built the '28's for the D&RGW much later, in the 1920's.

Even from this view, those canted or "angled" cylinders show up real good, don't they?
