~ Our Most Recent "C-17's" Arrived Mid-July 2005 ! ~

The R.G.S.'s "C-17" Class 2-8-0 #42 circa the 1940's.

Strangely enough, the R.G.S.'s "C-17" #42 survived the demise of that railroad to be a resident of the Durango & Silverton's yards. When we first went to measure it, ( back in 1988 or 1989, memory serves me right.), although its appliances weren't all intact, it appeared to be in surprisingly good shape.

The odd, ( even for "C" Class lokies ) wheel arrangement, with the widely spaced center drivers and long main rods, sts the "C-17's" apart from their other "C" Class cousins.

Here's a rear view of C-17 - #42. Isn't she a dandy ?
