As you can see, this #456 is sporting "Footboards" on her tenders' end beam, a
sure sign she's being used in at least occasional switching duty. ( O'course,
on The Narrow Gauge, few engines were exempt from this duty. But then, not
all of them were equipped the way you see this one. )
The lighting could have been better for this setup because the tender "patches" and rivets don't stand out as well as they ought to. Chalk it up to a new-to-me photo setup and too much hurry. Nonetheless, it's still a halfway decent picture, surely a whole lot better'n a loco on a countertop... Click on the photo below for a look at one of our R.G.S. #461's from that model run...
