Circa the 1940's...

In this view you can make out how the "wheel blocks" are slightly offset. What's not quite so obvious is that they are also offset from the cars centerline, apparantly to distribute the weight of those wheelsets properly.

Only one photo remaining now. Might as well go for it, eh?
