Here we've set one of our
PBL-528
Plastic
Three Point Track Gauges
in place atop the
outside or "stock" rail.
The tooling for these things was created long ago by our old friend Jim Finnell for, among other things, checking "flangeway" gauges ! Which is just exactly what the doctor would have ordered for this purpose, don'tcha think? |
Here you see how, with his left hand, Jimmy is holding the guard rail up snug
against the track guage?
This is a simple step, providing there arent any "nubbins" remaining from the "spike removal" process. You did get yours snicked off real good, didn't you? |
Here in Step #7 Jim's applying a drop of ACC to one tie. He'll hold the guard
rail in place for a few seconds before proceeding to allow the ACC to set
up.
Though he's using "regular" ACC here, we think the "Gap Filling" variety might bond better due to the somewhat irregular surfaces being joined together. |
